Form Music Festival - Arcosanti AZ
In the Canyons of the Arizona’s high desert rest a unique habitat, in my mind it is a spaceship in the sky…Arcosanti is a non-profit urban experiment in community, innovative design and environmental accountability.
Arcosanti’s architect, Paolo Soleri, believed the urban planning of his time to be unsustainable: cities were too big, too wasteful and isolating. His dream was to build a fully functioning, environmentally responsible city that balanced architecture and ecology - a compact alternative that felt more natural, social, and aligned with how people were meant to live. His intent has been to make the project a center for the arts. It is hoped that the habitat itself is not just a device but also an aesthetic expression, not only an instrument but also the music itself.
Creative minds have been gathering here sense the late 1970’s doing there best to continue forward with the ideas and dream of Paolo Soleri and the gatherings still continue. Each May a collection of talented musicians and artists come together within this otherworldly environment to host and preform in front of 1,500 participants at Form Festival. A weekend of creative immersion, adventure and retreat. A radical expression of collective creations.
I have had the pleasure to offer the morning yoga and meditation the past years.
